We are looking for a formulation Development Scientist to join our technical team to work between both our Liversedge (WF15) and Skipton (BD23) site.
The Role:
o To formulate, trial, and develop NEW and INNOVATIVE product formulations within Health Innovations.
o Identify product formulation improvements.
o To originate new product formulations that meet with product brief, comply with legislative and customer policy.
o To ensure formulations developed can be consistently manufactured – coordinating pre-production trials where necessary.
o Technical policies developing consistency across methodology and process across sites.
o To maintain raw material and product formulations in line with regulatory, BRC, and customer requirements.
o To prepare the Technical content on product formulation and manufacturing process for the application of various, registration requirements, dossiers and certification schemes
o To coordinate new tablet sample requests and production trials, liaising with the Production and Purchasing departments.
o Using scientific research and insight identify opportunities for new product development, improvement, or advances in manufacturing/testing processes.
o To define and coordinate appropriate raw material and product testing in order to demonstrate compliance with product specification and nominated shelf life.
o The management of the testing and release of raw materials, work in progress, and finished product against documented and agreed specifications.
o The testing and release of raw materials, semi-finished and finished product as required
o Develop Training and Educational materials that will increase understanding and awareness of New Products within the Technical, Quality, and Production teams
Ideal Candidate:
o Previous formulation experience (2 years +)
o Previous Nutraceutical /Food Industry experience (2 years +)
o The successful candidate will have a degree level science qualification (desirable)
o Experience with capsules and tablets (advantage)
This role will be based across both sites. Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours.
