Job Title

Logistics & Planning Manager

The purpose of the role is to ensure that all packing and manufacturing demand is captured correctly, and planned to deliver OTIF delivery whilst maximising efficiencies. The role is pivotal in providing a central operations data hub, ensuring integrity of information provided, analysing and making recommendations for process improvements.

The Role

To manage the Planning and Packing Systems, working closely with the IT team to deliver system improvements.

To manage customer orders “from cradle to grave”, making sure activity is planned to deliver on time in full, and that the customers are kept aware of the status of their orders and any changes should they arise

Create, issue and manage Production plans, making sure that the forward pipeline is secure and that colleagues and process owners know what they need to deliver

Work with relevant Managers and Senior Operatives to make sure activity is carried out to plan

Collaborate with Purchasing to make sure componentry demand is captured, aged stock is utilised and availability is maximised

Manage the Warehouse Picking and Goods In Team, plan warehousing space and utilise to gain maximum efficiency

Ensure accurate completion of all works documentation, delivery notes, CofA’s etc, providing training where required

 

Required Skills / Experience

Preferably Manufacturing background, with experience in Planning or a similar discipline

Minimum 1 year in a Manager or Supervisory position

High level of IT literacy, particularly Excel – including basic formula (IF, SUM, VLOOKUP). Ideally having had some experience of VBA and macro’s

Experience using ODBC for data collation and report building

Superb people skills and ability to influence peers and train colleagues

Clear, precise communicator, with ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders

A can-do attitude is vital
